A Level 1 Meeting is offered at no cost to discuss potential projects that are in the introductory stages of fact-finding and for which no draft plan currently exists. Think of this as the "Big Idea" phase without detailed, drafted plans. This service is ideal for new or prospective property owners or to conduct discussions on a particular piece of a property or City process with City officials. While customers are welcome to walk in during business hours with questions, this is a pre-arranged 45 minute time slot dedicated to their specific questions, involving representatives from city departments as required.
A Level 2 Pre-Development Meeting may be helpful once basic decisions regarding the proposal have been made. Common items for which Level 1 meetings may be helpful for a proposed project may include, but are not limited to, general questions about:
- Allowed uses.
- Zoning districts and their restrictions.
- Location of nearby infrastructure (water, sewer, streets, hydrants, etc.).
- Basics of the subdivision platting process.
- Street construction/expansion procedures.
- Emergency vehicle accessibility questions.
- Residential subdivision development.
