Airport Master Plan 2020 

The San Angelo Regional Airport recently completed its Airport Master Plan that details current infrastructure and usage, forecasts future infrastructure and usage at the airport, and provides guidance for how to meet the needs of the airport.

Lost and found

If you believe you have left an item behind at the airport, please be sure to check with the airline, TSA and airport administration to recover your item. Please email us at yvonne.sanchez@cosatx.us to identify and claim. If you are unable to pick up your item in person, be aware that shipping charges will apply. Property will only be held for 90 days.

Badging

Badging at SJT is required for all persons who access the air operations area (AOA) without escort.

The application office is open 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Badges can be issued for General Aviation tenants, and for commercial tenants who require Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) access. Process are similar for both but require the following:

General Aviation:

• Complete a Badge Application packet (except for page 7) 
• Provide 2 forms of identification found on page 8 (typically a social security card and a passport or driver's license). 
  • Note 1 - If you were born outside of the United States, you are required to produce a valid US passport.
  • Note 2 - If you will be driving a vehicle (even on a ramp), you are required to produce a valid US driver's license.
  • Note 3 - For a GA badge, you are NOT required to produce a Social Security Card, but not doing so can delay you application process.
• Successfully pass a Security Threat Assessment (based upon application and ID documents provided).

SIDA access:

• Complete a Badge Application packet (except for page 7) 
• Provide 2 forms of identification found on page 8 (typically a Social Security Card and a passport or driver's license). 
  • Note 1 - If you were born outside of the United States, you are required to produce a valid US passport.
  • Note 2 - If you will be driving a vehicle (even on a ramp), you are required to produce a valid US driver's license
  • Note 3 - A Social Security Card is required for your SIDA badge access.
• Successfully pass a Security Threat Assessment (based upon application and ID documents provided).
• Successfully pass a Criminal History Records check (based upon collection of your fingerprints and submission to the FBI's database).
• Schedule a SIDA training class.
• Successfully complete a SIDA training class. 

The access card is the property of the City of San Angelo. Failure to return the access card could result in a $100 or more fine.

Movement area driver training

If you are a current badge holder or have applied to be a badge holder at SJT and you will need access to portions of the airfield as part of your job duties, you will need to complete movement area driver training. Our initial movement area driver training consists of reviewing our movement area driver training packet, completing a computer based training module, and successfully completing a practical airfield driving exam.

SJT does not require badge holders to complete driver training UNLESS they have an operational need to access the movement area. Please click the link below to download a copy of the movement area driver training packet.

NOTAM distribution

If you are interested in receiving NOTAMs regarding airfield conditions, you can sign up for our NOTAM distribution list. When a new NOTAM is issued by SJT personnel, you will automatically receive an email informing you of the condition.

Weather information

SJT is fortunate to have the National Weather Service onsite. If you are interested in learning about current or future weather at SJT, please check out their website at weather.gov/sjt/briefingnotes.

Construction activity 

If you are preparing to build a structure within the airport's protected airspace, you may be required to file a FAA Form 7460-1 45 days prior to beginning construction. If you have any questions about the FAA requirements prior to construction, visit oeaaa.faa.gov for more information.

Drone information

The FAA has strict regulations and guidelines on where you can fly your drone. FAA Certified Part 107 Drone Pilots are able to conduct commercial drone operations within the regulations and guidelines established by the FAA.
