City offices closed July 4-5

City offices will be closed Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day.

Trash

There will be no interruption in garbage collection or landfill operations.

Fireworks

Shooting or possessing fireworks inside or within 5,000 feet of city limits is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a max fine of $2,000. To report illegal fireworks, contact the non-emergency dispatch number at 325-657-4315. Please also be aware that Tom Green County is under a burn ban.

The Star-Spangled Banner Concert & Fireworks will take place from noon to 11:30 p.m. July 3 at the River Stage, 16 E. Avenue A. Live local entertainment will be ongoing throughout the day and the fireworks show will begin later in the evening. The event is sponsored by Downtown San Angelo, Inc., and San Angelo Live!

Lake Nasworthy fireworks will take place around 9 p.m. on July 4. The fireworks are launched from across Goodfellow Recreation Camp and can be viewed from all around the lake and nearby areas. Spectators can tune in to a curated soundtrack to the fireworks show on 94.7 KIXY FM. Please also be aware of heavy traffic in the area during this time. This is a privately funded event organized by the Lake Nasworthy HOA.

Lake Nasworthy parks

Day passes to Middle Concho and Spring Creek parks at Lake Nasworthy are available at their entry gates for $5 per vehicle. Season entry passes, which are valid through Labor Day weekend, can also be purchased for $20 for ages 65+ and those with disabilities, or $30 for the general public.

Camping permits cost $10 per campsite per night. Permits can be bought at the entry gates and at Spring Creek Marina. Season entry passes can also be purchased for $20 for ages 65+ and those with disabilities, or $30 for the general public.

Fort Concho

Hourly firing of the artillery will occur from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Barracks 1. This is free and open to all.

Municipal Pool

On Wednesday, July 3, after normal operating hours, the pool will reopen from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. for guests to view the July 3 fireworks at the River Stage. This event is sold out.

The Municipal Pool will be open during normal hours of noon to 6 p.m. July 4. Admission is $5 for ages 3-64, free for children 2 and younger, and $3 for ages 65 and older.

City offices will reopen Monday, July 8.
